Facts You Didn't Know about Game of Thrones

A Song of Ice and Fire - popular fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin inspired HBO ( David Benioff and D. B. Weiss) to make one of the most watched epic fantasy series ever. That was affirmed by many nominations and awards like Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Drama Series and Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Television Series, and many others. Making series out of a book can be pretty hard but Benioff and Weiss did it perfectly. It seems that everybody knows the plot, whether they've read the book or not, so let's just run through that quickly and then focus on some more interesting parts of making of this series.

In the fight for the Iron Throne, the story follows seven families originating from different parts of fictional land of Westeros, who all have the right to ascend the throne in some way. Of course, there are several co-dependent storylines concerning each one of them. The most prominent families are Stark, Lannister, Baratheon and Targaryen. During various struggles among the dynasties there are many political and especially sexual intrigues at work. In the Game of Thrones series (which was named after the first Martin's novel, though the others have a different title) you could see a display of characters who participated in other "big" movies also. Like Sean Bean for example, previously known as Boromir from Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings and Ciar n Hinds who played Aberforth Dumbledore in Harry Potter, Ceasar in the Rome series, in Ghost Rider - the Spirit of Vengeance and in John Carter along with Jason Momoa - a previous model (and actor in popular Baywatch) and later John Carter and latest Conan the Barbarian.

Another fact that might be interesting also is that they used real wolves as direwolves of the Stark family, of course they used CGI application (Computer-Generated Imagery) for enlarging them. And after the execution of Lady (Sansa's direwolf) the actress (Sophie Turner) adopted it.
